My god, I had no idea Nova Scotia was this beautiful. I felt warm looking out at the ocean, even if it was cold. At some beaches, the red clay from the cliffs made the waves orange, and I couldn't have been with better company. A perfect couple of nights. There were hours of searching for fossils, looking at the ocean (with the lowest tides I've ever seen- we're talking a kilometer low), driving our Ford Topaz and talking... He and I talk, but we never really Talk... talking like it means something is a rarity between us, and I felt like he was really getting to know me, and me him. There was a fantastic little cabin with a blustery snowstorm outside and jazz music on the little radio. Beautiful, huge houses that we looked at and commented on. Many of them I could see myself living in. And although he just laughed at the idea, I think I found a dinosaur footprint in a rock. Countdown to the beginning of my next trip: 1.5 hours. I'm on my way to Ottawa for a couple of weeks, which hopefully will be fun, but I don't think I'll be back in the new year. Time to take all the "sharp" objects out of my carry on....
