Friends vs Vacuums. Oh, and the Trip to Nashville.

My trip to Nashville was sucky. Wait. By Nashville, I mean my trip from Halifax to the Toronto airport, where I waited in a customs lineup for more than four hours, and never even ended up going across the border. It's a long complicated story. But just let me clear my name and say that it has nothing to do with any sort of criminal record or anything like that. Nashville, no. Back and forth from Halifax to Toronto in one day? Yes. What a headache. And the scary thing is, is that I was really happy that I didn't get to go. It meant that I probably wasn't going to Nashville to work, which meant that I could spend more time in NS with my mother and Lisa and boyfriend. I'm not ready to go anywhere yet. * Instead of Nashville, I spent this week unpacking boxes and cleaning up my mother's new house. I find a strange joy in cleaning up really dirty things. I like washing cars and spraying my house with the hose and watching the dirt stream down. The carpets in my mom's house are really dirty, and I spent a good couple of hours washing floors and vacuuming carpets, and it was thrilling to empty out the little vacuum and see all the dirt. ... Maybe my mom is right in worrying about my lack of friends...
